Beware of Home Foreclosure Avoidance Scams
It is so sad to say, but there are a few bad apples in every society. These bad apples always seem to raise their ugly head the highest when times get difficult. When people need honest, professional advise the most, these few bad apples seem to feed on people like a hungry shark at a beach on Sunday. With the recent down turn of the economy and housing troubles leading the way, there are numerous foreclosure avoidance scams, so caution should be top of mind. Government Foreclosure Avoidance Programs During the past year all kinds of government foreclosure avoidance programs and dialogue ...
Federal Government increases Value Refinance Program to 125 Percent
The federal government program to help home owners refinance their troubled home value took a step up recently. Under the U.S. Housing and Urban Development program, Secretary Shaun Donovan announced July 1st that the old limit under the government’s Home Affordable Refinance Program has increased the maximum percentage rate from 105% to 125%. This will help some home owners who are underwater qualify for the governments program to help refinance their homes. With the increase in percentage rate, this means if you qualify under the guidelines of this program, your house could be upside down up 125% and still qualify. For ...
National Home Delinquencies are on the Rise!
The National Home Delinquency Figures are on the Rise We hear in the news that we may be at the end of the economic skid, but recent figures are showing that home mortgage delinquencies are continuing to increase. Since May of this year to August the total mortgage delinquencies have had a significant jump in overall numbers. A large jump in both delinquent mortgages and in actual foreclosures. Recent figures have shown a jump of 4.61% in just 4 months. This supports the overall statistics we see of an increase of future foreclosure figures based off the sub-prime loans that were taken out ...

White House to Expand Program to Stem Foreclosures
White House to Expand Program to Stem Foreclosures Published: Monday, 30 Nov 2009 | 8:18 AM ET The program has come under heavy criticism for failing to do enough to attack a tidal wave of foreclosures. Analysts said the foreclosure crisis is likely to persist well into next year as high unemployment pushes more people out of their homes. Rising foreclosures depress home prices and threaten the sustainability of the fledgling economic recovery. A report last week from the Mortgage Bankers Association found that 14 percent of homeowners with mortgages were either behind on payments or in foreclosure at the end ...
Bank of America suspends Acorn loans
Big trouble continues for ACORN. If you haven't heard, troubles started over a recent video catching employees of ACORN on video camera discussing questionable methods with two people posing as a prostitute and her pimp on ways to avoid taxes and how to purchase a brothel with ACORN grants from the government. Following the steps of the government suspending grants to ACORN while they look into this issue, the Wall Street Journal is reporting that Bank of America has suspended all financial relationships with ACORN. ACORN with over 400,000 members, receives much of their funding from the federal government to help low income families receive loans. ACORN is arguing ...
